The director of the restaurant Kartik Kumar along with chef Sricharan Venkatesh came up with the name ‘Cinnamon’ which they decided to begin with the idea of starting the Indian restaurant in Malaysia. But as they roamed around Kuala Lumpur tasting food in every nook and corner they got nostalgic about with the taste and names of food in the South India. And hence they could not come up with any better name, Nadodi which roughly translates into the Nomads of South India.
